PERMATA Remaja is a programme specifically developed to help youth in marginalised communities<\/h3>

so that they can enjoy a meaningful life and consequently realise their true potential. Social capital development is thus an approach for youth development.\n\nIn an effort to develop social capital, youth will be given the opportunity to be involved in the planning and execution of activities by voicing their opinions and making their own decisions regarding these activities. PERMATA Remaja aims to enhance a 25-item capital asset amongst the youth involved as it is anticipated that youth with these assets will be more likely to realise their ambition and not be susceptible to social ills. The development of these 25 Youth Asset is in terms of support, empowerment, constructive use of free time, positive values, social skills and positive identity.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This approach will change the paradigm from merely perceiving youth as problematic to seeing them as members of society with social capital i.e. assets, resources and skills. Active participation and dynamic social relationships can enhance the social capital of youth. Those with high social capital are most likely to succeed in life in the future.<\/span><\/p>

Among the objectives of PERMATA Remaja are to develop the youth based on their own strength or asset, empower and emphasise their participation and involvement in the community, strengthen the positive relationship between the youth and those around them, and unearth the talents that lie within each and every one of them. In the long term, PERMATA Remaja will strive to effect a change in the youth.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
