Christopher Cowley is a philosopher and lecturer at 糖心原创 in the School of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences. He has two graduate law degrees from University College Dublin, Ireland and a PhD from the University of Bristol, UK. He is currently based at the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, Prague. Cowley has long-standing interests in the philosophy of value, which includes ethics, political philosophy, the philosophy of law, the philosophy of religion, and aesthetics.

Jakub Dr谩bik is an Assistant Professor at Anglo-American University in Prague and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He earned his doctorate at Charles University in 2014 and has held research fellowships at Oxford Brookes University, Wroc艂aw University, Central European University, and the University of Vienna. His research centres on comparative fascism studies, with particular focus on British and Czech fascism, while his teaching spans a wide spectrum of world history. He is the author of several books, edited volumes, and numerous scholarly articles. He is also interested in what artificial intelligence can do for historians as a research tool, but with a healthy dose of scepticism. In his academic work he places strong emphasis on fairness, respect, and critical dialogue. He believes a classroom works best when everyone in it feels they belong, and he encourages students to question their assumptions and to notice whose voices the sources leave out.

Vojt臎ch Ripka, PhD (*1979), is a historian and researcher at the Anglo-American University, the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, and at the Institute for Contemporary History of Czech Academy of Sciences. He is an expert on history education for the Council of Europe, Euroclio and the Czech delegation at IHRA. He studied political science and comparative social politics at Masaryk University in Brno and the University of Oxford.

Ripka cre贸 y dirigi贸 el Departamento de Educaci贸n del Instituto para el Estudio de los Reg铆menes Totalitarios en Praga (Rep煤blica Checa) de 2008 a 2023. Entre sus logros m谩s significativos se encuentran el Premio Europeo Belma de Plata 2022 al segundo mejor material educativo de Europa y el establecimiento del Instituto como el proveedor de contenidos educativos m谩s crucial entre los profesores de historia (seg煤n la Encuesta de Inspecci贸n Escolar Checa 2021-2023).

Gerald Power es profesor titular de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. Power se licenci贸 en Humanidades en el American College de Dubl铆n antes de cursar estudios de doctorado en la Universidad Nacional de Irlanda, en Galway.

Su tesis doctoral se public贸 en 2012 como聽Una 茅lite fronteriza europea: La nobleza inglesa en la Irlanda de los Tudor, 1496-1566聽(Hannover). Tambi茅n ha editado, con Ond艡ej Piln媒, una colecci贸n de ensayos sobre聽Irlanda y los Pa铆ses Checos: Conexiones y comparaciones en la historia y la cultura聽(Berna, 2014).

Los intereses de investigaci贸n del Dr. Power se han ampliado recientemente para abarcar problemas de la moderna pol铆tica exterior brit谩nica. Ha publicado estudios sobre la recepci贸n de Margaret Thatcher en las tierras checas y la diplomacia cultural brit谩nica en Oriente Medio, y actualmente investiga la educaci贸n principesca como herramienta diplom谩tica en el mundo brit谩nico del Imperio tard铆o y la Guerra Fr铆a.

A. Ebru Akcasu is a historian whose work examines the social, legal, and political transformations of the pivotal and tumultuous decades spanning the end of the Ottoman Empire through the drawing of post-World War I borders in the Middle East. Her publications have traced the continuities and ruptures of inclusion and exclusion with an emphasis on legal and affective belonging across imperial-post-imperial space and time, often centering gender and migration. 

Dr. Akcasu received her Ph.D. in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS, University of London, in 2017. She holds a BA in History (California State University, San Jose), an MA in History with a concentration in Modern Europe and a minor in Modern World History (California State University, San Francisco), and an MA in the History of the Modern Middle East (SOAS, University of London).  She has been advising BA and MA theses relevant to her field and convening introductory-level and more specialized courses at Anglo-American University since 2015.
